Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at University of Toronto
(Class of 2016-2018)
IB helped me take control of my own learning and grow as a person and critical thinker. The teachers at Singhania encouraged self-directed learning and facilitated personal growth. The small class sizes were definitely a plus and made learning more engaging!
University of California Los Angeles
(Class of 2016-2018)
Computer Science
I think in my time at Singhania, I got to be a part of an incredibly gifted group of friends and teachers where everyone was learning and growing together. It was the first time that I felt a classroom was open to ideas and discussion about deeply meaningful things. Even though most of us are at the best colleges around the world, there is something so special and timeless about the days that we spent together. IB at Singhania left a lasting impact on all of us and we, as a group, shaped each other to become confident individuals, driven enough to follow our most sincere interests and brave enough to believe that we can do something truly significant in this world. And I for my part, still believe that there is nothing that my classmates and teachers, together, cannot achieve.
National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad
(Class of 2016-2018)
Product Design
Undergraduate, 2018
The two years of IB for me was a time of holistic growth and learning. It was also a time where I got to explore my areas of interests with freedom and also discover new ones along the way. We were given the opportunity to take an interdisciplinary approach to learning which helped us look at everything with multiple perspectives and develop a stronger understanding of subjects.
University of Illinois at Chicago
(Class of 2017 – 2019)
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Doing IB was truly a unique experience. Coming from the traditional State Board, I didn’t know what to expect. But looking back now, it was a really memorable one. The thing I enjoyed and liked about IBDP is the flexibility that it allows in choosing what you want to learn. There are many possible combinations of subjects you could choose according to your liking, something which is not possible in the traditional Indian Boards. It is similar to university (at least in the US), so transitioning to university life was relatively easy. One added bonus was that I received course credits for some of the IB classes that I took, this gave me a good head start at university since I was already ahead before university even began. One of the other things I really liked about Singhania IB was that the teachers are very knowledgeable and know their subject well. The two years that I spent here are one of the most memorable ones thanks to the friends I made and the teachers.
James Cook University, Australia
(Class of 2018-2020)
Course: Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Batch of 2025)
IBDP is a rigorous curriculum but it is the most effective in preparing an individual for university life. It is designed to lay equal emphasis on academics as well as extracurricular activities and life skills. In fact it helped me discover those aspects of my personality which I didn’t know existed before. It taught me how to research, think out of the box and apply knowledge in daily life.
Swansea University UK
(Class of 2018-20)
I am Sudhaunsh Deshpande IB batch of 2018-2020. My experience of the IB Diploma was extremely interesting. IB is all about time management and discipline. At Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School the IB Diploma course is one of the best in the region. We worked hard and played hard. With a lot of interactive AV classes and presentations leering and understanding concepts was a piece of cake. Teachers provided a lot of practice work along with class presentations. The IAs and EEs were a very good opportunity to take up research work and “free the mind from the bounds of books”. To be truly honest in IB there is nothing as the “book boundary”. You learn beyond the books. The school science day was a huge event and a great success. We practically brought out every possible branch of science from arching Tesla coils to explosive hydrogen to environmental effects of research. All in all it was fun and a very exciting event.
At the end I think when I say “the 2 years were amazing”, I think I speak for the whole batch.
Parent of Shruti Dabke (Class of 2017-19)
The IBDP prepared my daughter for the real world. It made her appreciate the challenges that exist outside of academic realm, and enabled her to better cope with them. This program has made her a better communicator and a risk-taker which allows to her confidently navigate university life.
2018-2020 IBDP Batch
The IBDP at Singhania School is a great course and has definitely equipped my son with the ability to manage his time better. With proper guidance from respective teachers he learned not only the textbooks but life skills which helped him to stay firmly on his feet to manage his Medical engineering studies at Swansea University all alone. With the great academic reputation of the school we as parents were confident about the school. The school and all the teachers were extremely cooperative during the covid19 outbreak. Even after he left for the UK for his further studies the teachers are in touch with him and give him moral support.
Parent of Divya Jairam class of 2019-21
As a parent, I am extremely happy that my daughter is learning from teachers who are highly motivated and deeply invested in their student’s well-being. The entire IBDP Faculty is well-engaged with the students and work earnestly as a highly professional team, to bring out the strengths in them, which I believe, is most needed in this discovery phase of a student’s life. The school’s strong encouragement of camaraderie and community involvement helps bond the students for good causes, while inculcating the spirit of giving in them. I have personally seen the ‘Joy of Giving’ become infectious, thereby snowballing into a larger good. I must add that the school has left no stone unturned in providing all the support and attention to the needs of the students, especially during these difficult times of the pandemic, as the classes transformed into virtual teaching.
Parents of Anoushka Kukian
Class of 2016-2018.
We strongly believe, that getting Anoushka to do the IBDP curriculum was the best decision because it was here that we saw her all-round personality blossom and she grew to being an independent & confident individual. Her development here was just not with academics, but we could see a visible difference in her soft skills and this not only made her confident but gave us the confidence to send her to the United Kingdom for an Undergraduate Program.
All these changes were possible because of the IBDP curriculum and the immense contributions and efforts put in by her teachers & staff at Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania World School.
parent of Gurjot Gill
Class of 2020-22 .
I want to convey my most sincerest thanks and appreciation for the wonderful work you have been doing helping the IB class in managing and preparing them with care and understanding during the past two years given the lockdowns and Covid restrictions.
This time has been extremely stressful for the kids and as a parent I am really really glad my kid is in the care of Singhania (your) team. Gurjot has nothing but wonderful appreciative words to share about his experience with Singhania till date, especially given last year kids had the most difficult time studying remotely under lockdown.
As a parent I cannot thank you enough. So please accept my sincerest gratitude for your entire team who are working so hard every day to build our future leaders, under such difficult circumstances.
parent of Saudansh Deshpande
class of 2018-20.
This is to inform you that Sudhaunsh Deshpande, Ex student of IB Singhania class of 2018-2020 got a paid year in Industry internship at Zimmer peacock a reputed Norway based company. He was interviewed for three rounds and the CEO of the company was personally present for the same. He was greatly pleased to see his achievements during his two years of Medical Engineering at Swansea University UK and his logical thinking. The way he faced all three level interviews with confidence and perfect answers were remarkable. In Fact he said Sudhaunsh should become an entrepreneur rather than doing a job for some other company.
All his personality development started especially from the day he took admission to Singhania IB school. He got the perfect guidelines from every teacher. Sudhaunsh participated in a science competition and won the first prize. Even for selection as an intern that achievement was also considered.
So for all his success major credit goes to all IB teachers who supported and showed him the right path.
Special thanks to the school and the teachers who constantly encouraged him to do new projects with proper direction.
parent of Rohan Amdekar
Class of 2019-21.
It was indeed a heartwarming virtual graduation program, brilliantly organised by you and the team. Thank you very much for this.
Like Rohan, myself and Shilpa, Rohans' mom, would like to thank you and all the Professors for taking the students through the IB program during the extremely challenging period of COVID pandemic.
I am sure it would have been a very difficult and tedious task to teach through virtual learning platforms with network and other logistical issues. I have attended the PTCs virtually and have noted how challenging it was for all of you Professors to move through this.
Thank you again.
And...kindly let me know if I can be of any assistance to the Singhania School any time in the future.
IBDP Chemistry Facilitator and EE Coordinator
In IB, the focus is on concepts and skills rather than content and as a teacher I consciously try and plan each class accordingly to develop students' critical thinking, social and related skills which will help them in identifying where their real skill or talent lies and choose a suitable career in the subject / course of their choice.
As a teacher, in IB I remain a lifelong learner and given the student centric learning, have created an open, sharing, inclusive and transparent atmosphere in the class.
My perspective has also changed to being glocal and am able to blend the global and local flavors in the class since many students are more likely to pursue higher studies in foreign universities.
Every day is a new, refreshing, and invigorating experience due to continuous learning and exploration.
Language Acquisition Hindi Facilitator
My journey with IBDP started 5 years ago since its introduction in Singhania School.
Teaching is my passion.
Working in IBDP gives me a sense of achievement in my career. It has given me a different perspective on education as it is linked with different aspects of life.
Teaching children in the IBDP has given me a new outlook and a new way of educating.
I am sure, along with children we can create a better and more tolerant world.
It is my pleasure to be a part of the IBDP team and work under the guidance of our Principal Mrs. Revathi Srinivasan.
Physics Facilitator
When IBDP started in our school, I was apprehensive about the new approach to teaching and learning. But it proved to be an exciting and invigorating experience. It was a major shift for me to switch from chalk and board methodology to activity based teaching. Conducting the class using discussions, debates, presentations and involving students made teaching- learning more fun and enjoyable. IA and EE in the IBDP curriculum involved a lot of brainstorming sessions which enhanced my research skills. My journey in IBDP is and will be a learning experience to be cherished.
CAS Coordinator
My journey with Singhania IBDP started from the time of applying for authorization. I had to start with learning the full form of IB(International baccalaureate) then move on to the IB methodology. The journey has been very enriching. As a teacher we are gaining so much through this well crafted curriculum. The CAS component has made us more empathetic and seeing the children react to situations affectionately gives us a fulfilling experience. Here, teachers are learners too, discovering new talents and newer ways of doing things. With the small class size we are able to connect to each student on a personal level and know them so well that we can design special activities for individual students.
Class of 2019-21
When I first entered IB, I was not very confident as a speaker. My time here at IB has made me develop my communication and social skills through constant class presentations, oral assessments and CAS projects. Now, I am very comfortable expressing myself in front of a large group of people.
Class of 2019-21
The Extended Essay and all the Internal Assessments have helped me improve my research skills. IBDP has taught me to use resources well and has taught me how to master the skills of observing, planning, and interpreting
