Makar Sankranti Celebration

Jan 14, 2021
The Festivals of Lohri and Makar Sankranti is celebrated as a harvest festival all over India. It brings great joy to all of us. This message was beautifully presented by the students of SSSS IBDP year 1 in Special Assembly on 13.01.21. The festival of Makar Sankranti is known by different names all over the country. This was presented by the students in different regional languages like Oriya from East, Tamil and Telugu from South, Hindi and Punjabi from North and Marathi and Gujarati from West. The students spoke in their mother tongue about how the festival is celebrated in their own regions.

It was a delight to hear our students speaking in their mother tongue. The program provided new insight about this festival being celebrated in different ways in our country.

This presentation truly showed India’s unity in diversity.
