The students of IBDP year 1 organised special assemblies and activities all through the week 8 March to 11 March as a part of International Women's Day week. The student led initiatives included well researched and informative presentations to highlight the significance and history of International Women's Day, the UN theme for the year, women in business, the problems faced by women in rural India, The presentations in English and Spanish had information about women achievers both in India, Spain and all over the world.
A list of must read books on women power was the highlight. A heated debate about what were the main causes of the problems faced by women especially in rural India, gender bias in families were interesting and informative.
The entire week beautifully incorporated the IB ethos and philosophy of international mindedness and developing globally aware citizens who think and debate on issues both in the local and global context.
